Last week I was lucky enough to be able to preview the Allegri Fall/Winter 2013 outerwear collection before it hits stores for the coming season. If you are not familiar with Allegri, they are the Italian brand credited with bringing the fashionable waterproof trench to Italy, with roots dating back to the late fifties and early sixties. Today, they still produce the high quality outerwear that the brand’s founders envisioned at the start.
Allegri’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection is both stylish and extremely functional, incorporating modern technology and fabric into classic designs. The collection ranges from classic trenches to high-tech puffer jackets, to quilted wool bombers and blazers.
I loved all of the jackets pictured above, but the quilted navy jacket was what I instantly gravitated toward. The shoulders are absolutely fantastic, and the fabric is incredibly soft with a very nice structure. This is a jacket that I would wear all throughout fall and into winter. The belted trench was also heavily present in the collection. There were maybe four or five belted jackets, but my two favorites were the classic navy trench and the micro-houndstooth gray trench. Both had an incredible fit that allowed for clean lines and a blazer beneath.
Allegri’s new collection is an impressive one, exhibiting functional clothing inspired by classic Italian outerwear and athletic garments. The tradition of quality does not escape this modern collection.
