You guys should absolutely check out Paradigm Magazine's Tumblr.

It’s run by the homie Theo, creator of the magazine and an insanely talented photographer and writer, and based out of Philadelphia. Truly incredible content.

Commonwealth Proper Spring/Summer 2013

Craig did an incredible job with this collection. The navy and gray striped peak lapel jackets are absolutely incredible, both in photograph and in person, and all of the ties and pocket squares are summer crushers. Of course, everything here is made in America and sold and fitted in our Philadelphia showroom and pop-up shops across the country.

Indochino is in Philly!

By now you guys have probably heard about the custom clothing company that is Indochino. They have a traveling tailor program, where they take their suits, shirts, and pants on the road and set up shop in major cities across the country for a couple weeks. We’re lucky enough to have them in Philly.

Indochino will be set up in Center City at 1518 Walnut until may 27th.

You can book a fitting appointment here, and those who book and purchase a suit will receive a free dress shirt, tie bar, and cuff links.

If you’re a recent graduate, on a budget, and in need of a suit for summer interviews, Indochino really is a great option. They just launched their Summer Collection, and there’s some really attractive pieces in there.

It’s great that Indochino decided to make a stop in Philly, and if you’ve been thinking about making a purchase online, this is a great opportunity to get a feel for the pieces in person. Hope to see you guys over there.

Philadelphia Menswear/Blogger Meet-Up:
Remember that time when I hosted a menswear/blogger meet up at Commonwealth Proper’s Rittenhouse showroom? Well, I’m doing that again. Last time we had a great time just hanging around the shop with drinks, after grabbing some food beforehand, so it looks like we’ll be going for round two.
So here we go: If you’re into menswear, run a blog, or possibly do both, we’d like to invite you spend the evening at our showroom at 1732 Spruce Street, just off the southeast corner of Rittenhouse square. At 7:00 PM on Friday February 1st, we’ll have drinks and enough glasses to go around. We’ll just be hanging out, sipping whiskey and beers, and shooting the shit. If you’d like to grab some food beforehand, I’ll be heading to a yet to be determined restaurant/bar/hole in the wall for some eats. As it gets closer, I’ll let you guys know about that.
If you guys are in the area and are interested in coming, hit me at adelany333@gmail.com and let me know, so I can get an estimate of the number of people coming out. I’m really excited about this, and if I have half as much fun as I did last time, it will be a solid night.
Until then, cheers.

Product Review: Commonwealth Proper Gray Flannel Tie

I think it’s highly looked down upon by the menswear community to not have something made of gray flannel in your wardrobe. I was losing street (read internet) cred quickly because of my lack of gray flannel, but thankfully, Craig just threw one of Commonwealth Proper’s new flannel ties my way.

The tie is made of 100% wool flannel, sourced from an Italian mill, constructed in the traditional five-fold technique. The flannel is very nice. It has a nice bit of depth in texture, but it is definitely still a solid tie. The gray is nice and versatile, and it also comes in a lighter shade as well. At three inches, it hits my ideal tie width perfectly.

The coolest thing about this tie, however, is the lining. Craig has this crazy ability to find the gnarliest stuff when sourcing fabrics. He found this vintage printed silk with renaissance style angels on it, and it ended up lining the tie. It’s a detail that only you know is there, and it’s a killer detail at that.

The silk is the coolest thing about the tie, but the fact that it is made in the U.S.A. is the best thing about it. Just like all of CMMP’s goods, this tie was made within the borders of our country. Basically, this tie supports American craftsmanship and our economy, and that’s what it’s really all about.

Basically, this is an extremely solid flannel tie that only gets better with an awesome lining and American manufacturing. You can check it out in action here.

I don’t think I will ever be able to get over how beautiful this song is.

Kiwanuka is one of the greatest musicians Philly has ever seen, and he’s one of the best singer/songwriters in recent years.
